New Health Insurance Marketplace Tools Unveiled

With less than 100 days left until the October 1 start of open enrollment for new health care insurance options, HHS has re-vamped its website to help individuals and small businesses understand the new options. HHS also has established a 24-hour-a-day call center.

Currently, the website walks the user through a series of questions relating to the person’s state of residence, current health insurance situation, size of business, income, and other factors, and provides general answers concerning possible health coverage options and qualifications for help in paying for insurance.

Over the summer, the functionality of the website will be expanded so that individuals can create accounts, complete an online application, and shop for qualified health plans.
